Portuguese Architecture Background
01 Why Portugal

The quiet European
destination that simply
makes more sense.

While everyone queues for the UK, Canada and Australia, Portugal offers the same European degree recognition at a fraction of the cost with far less refusal risk for a well-prepared file.

Europe’s best value for money

University tution fee starting from €4500 - €7500 a year, and living cost sit between €500-€650 a month. A full year in Coimbra can cost less than a single semester in the UK.

Hundreds of Master's and PHD programmes

Language is No Barrier Study entirely in English! Choose from hundreds of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral programmes at leading institutions like Lisbon, Porto, NOVA, Minho, and Aveiro, with no Portuguese language proficiency needed to apply.

Legal part-time work from day one

Your residence permit allows 20 hours of work per week during semesters and full time in holidays, so students realistically cover a large share of their living expenses.

A five-year route to EU residence

Time spent in Portugal on a student residence permit counts towards permanent residency. After five legal years you can apply for PR, and citizenship becomes possible thereafter.

One visa, twenty-nine countries

A Portuguese residence permit is a Schengen permit. Weekend trips to Spain, France, Italy and Germany become part of your student life, not a separate visa battle.

Safe, warm and welcoming

Portugal ranks among the world’s seven safest countries, enjoys nearly 300 days of sunshine a year and has an established, friendly South-Asian community in Lisbon and Porto.

“I had applied through two other agents and got nothing but WhatsApp silence. Pathwise sat with my father, showed us the real numbers, and built the file properly. My D4 visa came in 26 days and I am now in my second semester at Coimbra.”

The questions every
parent asks us first.

Not always. Many Portuguese universities accept a Medium-of-Instruction (MOI) letter from your previous institution, and some run their own online English interview. Where IELTS is required, the typical requirement is 6.0–6.5 overall. We tell you which route applies to your exact shortlist before you spend a rupee on the test.
For 2026 intakes the consulate generally expects proof of roughly €11,000–€12,000 for a full year (the Portuguese minimum-wage benchmark), plus your paid tuition receipt. Funds should show a consistent three to six month history. We help you structure this correctly — sudden lump-sum deposits are the single most common cause of refusal.
Typically 4 to 10 weeks from a complete VFS submission in Islamabad, though it can be faster. Because appointment slots are limited, we start the visa file in parallel with your admission rather than waiting for the offer letter.
Yes. Once you hold your residence permit you may work 20 hours per week during semesters and full time during holidays. Typical student wages run €5–€8 per hour, which covers a meaningful share of living costs — but you should never plan to fund tuition from part-time work alone.
Yes. Portugal permits family reunification for students holding a valid residence permit, subject to accommodation and income evidence. We advise on the timing so that it does not conflict with your study permit renewal.
The initial assessment and shortlist are free. Full end-to-end service is quoted as a single written fee in your service agreement, payable in stages tied to milestones — admission, visa filing and pre-departure. There are no surprise charges mid-way.
